Looking forward to it.
Here is one that crossed my path during the SOS. One of only two I have seen. Even though I was too late for the other one, I am glad to know it went where it will be cherished. Congrats to the friend who scored it!
That's a tough one. I like all but East Prussia or Sudetenland would be near the top for sure- both striking pieces.
Sudetenland offers all of its beauty in one shot, plain to see and wonderfully executed design with different colors, fire gilt that is so intense almost looks alive, just a right touch of burnished silver and a dash of vivid enamel. Delivered a powerful punch to anyone presented with it for sure. Impressive would not be a good enough or powerful enough word to describe it IMO but points in the right direction for sure.
Ost Preussen has that cold, steel, menacing look. Almost sinister, the design telegraphs so much of what OstPreussen was known for- proud, reserved, with a touch of coldness about it. Then there is the aspect you don't see- it's incredibly thoughtful and complicated construction. If Gau Badges were to be compared to time pieces, OstPreussen would have to be a Patek Phillipe without a doubt.
I should probably shut up now. My friends say every time I open my mouth on those, the prices go up, lol.
