I don't know of any silver badges on the market at this time. The badges seem to go 2000.00 and up for uncased examples. Good luck in your quest!

Indeed two sides of us in the collector. The "Less is more" person; or "The more the merrier" collector.

You have pieces that we would love to own. Again, pictures and lists are what others have to enjoy.

I wish other notable collections could be shown to enhance our knoledge. I love the Political awards, but we do not see them, the other Gau Badges, the German Order.
Smithee, part of the fun in collecting for me is sharing my collection with others and sharing any small bit of knowledge that I have after 40 plus years of collecting. I also learn something new everyday in this ever changing and expanding hobby. I also hope that others will share their collections as well so that we all can see new items and learn new things. Best, Erich

          Gau Thuringia Awards

Here are my two badges, Silver and Bronze.

Nobody, at this present moment in time, seems to know the reason why the Bronze version exists. But, as Erich says, we keep on learning.

Dear Stan, thank you so much for showing these pieces. The Bronze is some thing else. I have seen some of your collection on the forum, it is one of a kind. May we see more please. Your Gau Danzig is amazing. It must be one of a kind.

An excellent grouping Stan and maybe one day we'll find out the purpose of the bronze badges.

There not too many new Political award books out there and the two that you have are classics. If you want a book that shows the different awards, Detlev Niemann's book on decorations is very good but has no information regarding their history.

There's no way of knowing how many survived, but not many that's for sure. Like other high ranking awards like the Blood Order and Coburg Badge, no one wanted to be known as an Alte Kampfer at the end of the war!

                        Gau Thuringia Awards

                        Hi Smithee,

A inexpensive book which came out last year was Chris Ailsby's "German Nazi Party Awards". Another book by the same author is "World War 2 German Medals and Political Awards". Both books cost less than £20 each.

Here is another shot of my Silver Gau Thuringia showing the silver mark.

Stan, I love seeing the tool marks on these badges. Although Chris is very controversial in his business dealings, I did purchase his book and overall it's good and any new biiks on Political awards is welcome. The only problem with it are some of the GPB's and the silver badge for foreigners I have issues with.

Here you go...apparently there were 2 versions - date of 4.6.33 + just 6.33 like this one.

A joint thanks to Stan and ErickS. THE BOOK SEEMS TO BE A GREAT ADVANCE on the information we have currently. I can only view this in the experience of you two Expert colectors. I have not yet got a copy, but have seen some of the scans and information. Some must have come from Stan?

ErickS, S REPONCE, "Although Chris is very controversial in his business dealings, I did purchase his book and overall it's good and any new biiks on Political awards is welcome. The only problem with it are some of the GPB's and the silver badge for foreigners"

ErickS you must have had some thoughts on the book. It would have been very good if you had given this information to us earlier.

As to your statement, " There not too many new Political award books out there and the two that you have are classics. If you want a book that shows the different awards, Detlev Niemann's book on decorations is very good but has no information regarding their history. "

It would have been very hepful to us "Newbies" that this book had been published.
