    Badge

After careful evaluation of my listing and a conversation with one of my esteemed colleagues, I have changed the wording in my Ebay listing to better reflect what I know about the badge. Any other HELPFUL information would be greatly appreciated.

      Badge

Jo, one more thing. In another original posting from 2010, you commented that this badge was listed in Tiestes book as WHW 10 116 Winterhilfswerk WHW/KWHW Gau Hessen-Nassau 1935.

You're really full of yourself to even dare to blame this on me. You've really shot yourself in the foot now, not only offering an item as original with a made up story to fool on purpose potential buyers, an items that is anything but what you claim it is:

        - A rare NSV/WHW Carnival Officials Badge. Since when is Karnival the same as WHW? Although there have been Karnival and WHW related items i see no evidence at all that the base of this frankenstein creation is anything else but a German Karnival funny medal. Those from Europe who know what Karnival is (you either don't know or purposely play you don't know) immediatly know that the name you give it in your auction is nonsense. Which brings us the the "rare officials badge". Please tell how this could ever possibly be a rare officials badge. Please explain what officials? For the WHW? For the NSV? What for at all? It's nonsense.

        - OPFERT AUCH IM KARNEVAL on the reverse of the star referes obviously to making donations. For what purpose im already amused to see you try explain. I have an idea and can tell you already its very different to what you typed so far, but before telling any more it will be interesting to read your answer first and see you try to get away with it.

        - Carnivals were festivals held by different groups of the NSDAP to raise money. Right... The NSDAP invented Karnival! Case closed! for those who like factual correct history instead of phantastic made up stories by someone trying to fraud people by selling rubbish:
Carnival (also called 'Fassnacht" or "Vasteloavend" -> eve of fasting) is a of origin Catholic feast, whith possible pagan roots and which is celebrated the three days preceding Ash Wednesday. According to the tradition the party takes place from Sunday to Tuesday evening (the Fassnacht). At midnight a period of 40 days of fasting starts, till Easter... Obviously i have this wrong and you are right by telling this phenomenon is a festival held by local NSDAP groups (SIC!). Forget about history, that won't sell any badges, Catholicism is not as sexy to advertise with as a made up NSDAP connection. The historical truth or originality doesn't matter here, you have a badge to sell and unsuspecting custumers are more important, right?

        - In this case, it was a womens organization. What case? This Frankenstein badge? The NSV? Since when is the NSV a strictly female organisation? I have in my collection membercards of NSV men. But of course you are right and what do i know? According to your arrogant post i should refrain from posting

        - the NSV, helping to raise money for the WHW which was the welfare org You have even this wrong and mixed up.

The WHW (Winterhilfswerk / Winter Relief Organization) was a public law Foundation, which collected material and cash donations for "bedürftige Volksgenossen“ (to support people who needed help) in the time of national socialism. People were in practice helped by giving either direct help or money or by giving money to organisations of the NSV (Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People's welfare). Exactly the opposite as you thus tell. Again who cares about facts? It's Frankenstein badges that need to be sold for 200 hard earned dollars to unsuspecting people, right? Go Chris!

        - This badge is in very good condition What badge? This made up of seperate parts badge with a history of nonsense? As the saying goes over here: "You can polish a turd, but it will never be real gold".

        - and is nicely marked to the reverse. Yes it is, but with what marks and meaning? And how does it relate to what you phantasize it is? One could add an inscription to the same turd above here, very nicely marked....yes one can...

        So judging from:

        a) Your Ebay sales auction: it is according to you ok to sell items without any factual evidence of what they are, with made up tory's and with knowing perfectly well that said item is not original. I believe this is an instant ban on WAF that no mods can ever ignore. I say also again: buyers beware buying from you! (and im not even going to mention your ALWAYS ridiculous overpriced prices)

        b) Your arrogant attacking post above here attacking me: instead of admitting you try to steal money from unsuspecting buyers you instead try to discredit the one who calls out your practices (me) and add insults and personal attacks. Congrats, this is again a ban on WAF per the WAF rules. No WAF mods should or can ignore this.

You're disgusting and an insult for this forum and every (paying) member who comes here to learn about original items for their collections and how to distinguish between fakes and made up items and stories and who's selling those. It's even worse beause you are a long time collector who knows very well that what he types is purposely typed nonsense. Don't play the victim here as if you didn't know better. Per many old topics and replies you know very well what you do and why this above here is all wrong. trying to play the victim here is even more pathethic.

Lastly, regarding your insulting arrogant at me aimed reply: yes i call out fakes and frauds. It's what i do in order to try to help collectors who don't know wolves in WAF cloths like you, i simply don't like frauds. Obviously you and others before you don't like to be unmasked, hence your reply. It only means im doing something right for the community. I have said it also before: i don't know everything and hate the word "expert" you so selfcomplacent use, indicating you are better than me ( i could care less), i have always told everyone im not an expert at all, nor do i ever want to be. The horror of being in the same league as experts like you disgusts me. But be assured i know it when something stinks and someone is not honest. You are not and everyone can read that here. That is why i posted the screenshots and pictures before the ebay auction disappears. That is why i type this reply. Contrary to what you and others before you tried: i do know what i talk about and no matter what you say or try here, countless WAF members have thanked me for these topics with what they call "contributed worthwhile information". Unfortunately for you and others i have a somewhat eidethic memory for names (and items) like your name on ebay "peteped", which i had seen regarding and during another WAF discussion about a nonsense story you told about another badge last year. 1+1 is still 2.

You had a chance to reply normal to the above posts, explain why you typed that nonsense and tried to fool and cheat unsuspecting customers from their hard earned money, maybe even admit you were wrong, but instead you chose the arrogant approach, the attacking approach to insult a member who tried to warn the community of dishonest dealings and offerings. You shot yourself in the foot and should be banned, just as others before you have been banned for much less. Case closed. WAF is a little better place now that everyone can read this.

EDIT: i see you altered your last reply, i wish i had saved and quoted the original message. It does still not help you at all.

EDIT2: while typing the above i didnt see we're on page two now. Changing the auction after this all is too late to be taken serious:S

It's always fun to watch a 'melt down'.

It appears to me that Chris was trying to gather more information on his badge. That 'is' why folks hang out here. I note there was reference to a previous thread on a similar or same badge. There was also reference to an HH auction where this style badge was featured and described similarly. From what I gather Chris has used these other sites/threads to describe what he's selling. I see nothing wrong with that. I also see nothing wrong with continuing his investigation as to it's origins.

To jump to the conclusions you do based on this limited dataset and respond with the accusations and hostility, in my opinion, makes you a candidate for prozac.

Step back, take a breath or a cold beer. Chris is no crook or the lying weasel you want to paint him as.

Hi guys, just a quick word in regards to Chris and his reputation. I've had many deals with Chris and he is a stand up guy, not a crook and not a fraud. He has asked for any info on this badge and as stated before has most likely found a description maybe correct maybe not from another source and has asked help from this forum and that's what any forum is for, be it militaria or ancient coins etc. Lets stick together and dig for the info as a team, thanks Chris and thanks to all the researchers here

I too can comment on Chris’ character; I’ll relate just two examples which paint a picture.

Knowing my affinity for General’s insignia he sent a rather oddly badged Luftwaffe style cap to me in 2007 for his cost. The cap was a post war construct (Berlin Police Commander) with authentic/period Luftwaffe General’s insignia. The insignia alone was valued considerably more than Chris asked for the cap and remains in my collection to this day while the cap itself (stripped) went to Korea for two thirds of what I paid Chris. Also in 2007, he being a tinnie guy and knowing I was a visor guy, he passed a 17th infantry traditions visor to me, again, at his cost versus the then (or now) market value. I won’t even mention the number of times I’ve opened a mail bag to find a piece of insignia or badge he’s picked up in a lot of tinnies that he thought might trip my trigger at no charge.

This is the kind of crooked & nefarious character Chris is. An “arrogant” & “disgusting” fraudster for sure.

                  Gaston,

There are many threads that, out of curiosity, I subscribe to but have nothing to bring to the table and thus do not comment on. That said, when someone opens up discussion points in a thread, such as through your obvious melt down, quite inappropriately being openly insulting to a member (especially towards someone I know) then you open the door to ‘off topic’ remarks to redress your slander. If that makes one a “troll” well then, so be it.

I simply point out Sir, that you’re out of line with your remarks towards Chris. Making these threads ‘personal’ and not being sanctioned for it is, perhaps, why folks end up leaving these forums rather than contend with this level of immaturity.

I have had to delete the personal insults. Since my last message to settle down was ignored, here is a final one. Any more insults will result in a vacation from the forum.
