Misstamp of the date. Would this increase the value?

Hello Chris, yes you are correct, both are identical 1-¾ diameter 1938 die struck aluminium examples with typical spring pin and both with characteristics associated with this particular maker. However one example has the inverted sword / upside down date and would be considerably more valuable. The most ironic part is the two badges came together. Hence the original owner must have been an advanced collector.

Very strange! the one i have is similar to the one on the left, but on mine
the date is upside down. The badge on the right has the upside down
date but has the date numerals wrong, confusing or what?
          Regards

I have just got back from the pub so i am confused anyway, but looking
again the badge on the right is the correct version but has some damage
or wear to the date. Could you post a pic of both badges turned around
with the date on the bottom.

According to Tieste`s book, the version on the right is correct

Hello Chris, I might be putting my neck in the block here but isn't it the other way around the left one is the correct version and the right is the hybrid version

I have looked in three different books even my copy Tieste’s 94 catalog and they all show the same type as the one Martin has posted on the left.
