In another part of the record under the notation "Gold. Parteiabzeichen" is where the other award is listed as: "Thür. Gauadler * 8.12.39

Does that pertain to Gau Thüringia Badge ??

This was his last record notation 1.7.43

Thanks again for all the help from all of you.
    Don,

"Thur. Gauadler" almost certainly refers to the award of the Thuringen Gau Badge which was instituted in 1933, a picture of which Erich has posted.

      Thanks Stan,

Now can someone tell me where to see a picture of the NSDAP 10 year service cross in bronze, and the K.V.K which I think is the War Service Cross.

Of course I am familar with the EK I and II.

Indeed, my apologies what was I thinking! My mind was clouded with the thought that a mention of the bronze eagle had at last been found in a period document

Don, here's a link to a thread that pictures the 10 year cross.

Thanks Richard. Am I correct in assuming that the K.V.K is the War Service Cross? Thanks.

Thanks Max - I of course meant "Dienstauszeichnung", but that's what you get for typing after bedtime .

the "D.A." is an abbreviation for "Dienstauszeichnung" (Service Cross).

The correct name is "Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP in Bronze" (it was already said).

                  Kind Regards
