Note mushroom type button and elevated areas for the party badges.

Thanks Bob …That’s exactly why I brought it up. Remember the one I bought & showed you at the Max 2 years ago ? It doesn’t match the one Jason has at all and ..I don’t want to see him lose on this deal by ending up with a fabricated group.
            ..with a COA no less ?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
Since you posted that …I’ll add mine to it. You can see the raised area that holds the badges up and how the case is rounded<o></o>

There might be other Companies that produced these but , I never saw an original squared off and flat like that.
Here's the lid on mine ..look at the grain and curved top

                Mike,

Your case is an outstanding original. Note the 'mushroom' type of release button.

Thanks Bob , I was going to post a close up shot of the inside but , I don't want to "educate" the wrong people and end up seeing a new improved version for sale next year ......probably right next to the Plessen Diplo group
I spoke with Jason today and it seems the Dealer is reputable so he will get a refund if things don't work out.
And that's the bottom line here ...seeing a fellow collector lose out is not in any of our best interests.

Thanks everyone for your help. I have decided to send it back and I have learned quite a bit about cases.

This has been a very informative and educational thread. Thanks to Bob and Mike for sharing that outstanding original case!

Jason, I hope you are able to get your money back. Not only is the case bad, but the issues with the GPB itself would have me quite upset and asking for a full refund.

                      Good luck,

                      Rob
