    I found it in Manions #3 tinnie collectors guide and all it says it’s part of the lyrics from a popular song expressing concern and joy.

        It belongs to the German Winter Relief Program (WHW) Christmas 1937/38.

        You see a clown with an accordion and a lot of words part of a popular son in

        the Cologne area) on it.

                As far as I can see, the text is free translated;

                "Who gives what he has, is worth that he lives."

                Cheers,
                Benten

                  Yes, that makes sense. Must be Kölsch then.

                            Classes depending on size of gift?

                            Could it be that the different finishes were handed out depending on the size of the donation? Doug

                              Variants

                              Hello Doug, perhaps for certain Festival/ minor occassions & Kries level NSDAP events this could certainly be the case. However for the more Important events such as the Nurberg rallies & Gau level meetings, I would imagine that the Gold, Silver, Bronze versions were issued to represent the wearer's rank/political or social standing. Some of the NSDAP Meetings/events that were held and ran two consecutive days often had Gold, Silver & Bronze versions of the tinnies. Here are two examples of the Silver & Gold for a Kreis level NSDAP meeting at Stade. There will be a bronze example, however these are quite scarce to find and the chances of me locating the bronze is remote
