Good to see you back, Jon.

A decent high street jeweller could fix that suspension ring invisibly in a couple of minutes. Might be better to do that in this case. Now the hunt for a ribbon begins!

Good Luck That's something I never want to have to do again!

      Robin-

Any chance of seeing 1651? Yours would be the lowest number second pattern I have actually seen. It's the lowest number I have in my database of known survivors...

        Rob.

I'll post a photo when I get the chance.

It came with a vet group from Glasgow about 10 years ago.

        Rest of the haul was:

        1. Himmler signed promotion document to SS-Stubaf. Riecken.
        2. Reichskommissar Lohse signed document to Riecken (who worked with Lohse in the Ostland).
        3. SS memo sending the promotion document to Riecken in the Ostland.
        4. Photo signed by Meissner.
        5. Fantastic huge signed photo of Mussolini.

I got the BO and nos. 1, 2, and 3 above.

Riecken didn't get the BO, unfortunately. I think it may have been awarded to Karl Maas of Itzehoe. Both Riecken and Lohse were based in the Itzehoe area pre-war, so there may have been a connection with Maas. Speculation, though.

The BO has the original untampered-with ribbon, complete with the buttonhole.

The grouping was most exciting.A very nice Blood Order.

          4. Photo signed by Meissner. This was a very late signature and showed a grouping of dignatries.

          5. Fantastic huge signed photo of Mussolini. The real gem. A DEDICATED PICTURE TO A GERMAN. This is in civilian dress, which is unussual. It was a decoration, and gave rise to Hitler giving the signed pictures.

I have only collected the first type of Fuess marked Blood Orders. Do all 2nd types have uneven numbers, as does the above posted example? I always thought the numbers would be even.
