It is well know fact among advanced collectors there exists many Austrian and German Jublilee Badges that were manufactured to acknowledge 50 years. I myself have several examples of such Badges and would be happy to post them on the forum.
That the Badge is not featured in Andre's (Hüsken) Catalogue is a very weak argument that the Badge is a a fantasy peice as other badges are also absent from his catalogues. It is in the Tieste Book and after all he is one of the worlds leading experts on the Subject.
As Don pointed out the reverse pin assemblies and back plates on the "so called fantasy piece" have all the charteristics of period third reich Abzeichens. that is because they are period and not fantasy. Don's statement regarding they were on the market in the 1970's is controversial, as in 1970 these Badges had no real market value. so why would they fake a Badge with no value ?? and to the degree of incredible accurate specifications. I still do not see anything in actual hard facts to back up this is a fantasy piece. Yet I have posted the page from Tiestes Book and a period 1940 Book.

Yah de ya de yadah.....
When these first appeared in the 1970's they sold for a very high sum.......
Regarding your weak arguments, the same can be said for Tieste, just because it's in his book doesn't make it original. Just because you've handled a badge that fooled you it doesn't make it original..... You are just going around in circles relying on Teiste to back up your delusions.
I just hope that not too many people on this forum are swayed by your misinformation.

Although I am quite conversant in German I really cannot translate
Yah de ya de yadah..... and with due respect I think the statement
You are just going around in circles relying on Teiste to back up your delusions is inapproriate
and further more is totally biased as I have several world leading experts who acknowledge the Badge exists. In an ideal world it would be nice for you to be correct, but you have not once backed it up with concrete evidence. On this occassion I would prefer to use my own judgement and that of the actual experts in the field. As for your next comment
I just hope that not too many people on this forum are swayed by your misinformation. I don't think they will be swayed by either of us as they can learn from the reference Books the actual facts for themselves, don't you think?

Hello again all,
Don thanks much for your reply. I have one of these items with a correct pin plate etc and had read in the past that some of these were fake but that others with a rivet holding the hunting insignia were real etc. Now at least as far as I am concerned this badge can defininately be classified as a fake. And as you have said these items were going for good money when I bought mine. Again thanks and I guess at the end of the day we all have to weigh the various information surrounding various items we collect and decide for ourselves who and what is correct regarding them.

Hello Bill, a valid point you made. At the end of the Day it is really up to the Dealer, collector or individual to determine for themselves what is authentic and what is not without been too influenced by other members. I stand resolute that this Badge was not a fantasy Badge and will at a later Date post period Pictures to endorce this. Handbags at dawn or sarcasm aimed at other members for stating their opinions does not resolve anything or bear any significance to the discussion. I would like think determining the true facts is the main issue here and not "who is right or who is wrong"

Don and Martin this is for you both.
I think that you should both call a truce and end the bickering on here. I know that you both think that you are right and neither one of you will back down, so just agree to disagree. I don't like to see grown men arguing like a bunch of school boys in a school playground.
Regarding schmusi having a go at martin for using bold text, well that hasn't got anything to do with the badge and that is just plain trouble making. I really think that he is out of order for writng this.
We are here to learn on this site and i really think that this has got out of hand. I feel that Don and Martin both need to step back from this thread as nothing is being achieved here.
This is my opinion anyway. I don't surpose either one of you will listen to it coming from a woman.
regards,
belinda
