      Martin,
You have a very nice silver plated variation there. A lot of these Day badges were offered in more then one finish the reason being in my opinion it just depended on how much one wanted to donate at the time.

cool looking piece. For my edification, can you note who the maker is? I believe I read 'Ludenscheim' also.

        thanks.

          Paulmann & Crone

James, that's a very interesting theory, the silver is certainly period and has naturally oxidised (thank god no one cleaned it)Only bad thing is this example did not come to me cheaply
Tony, as far as I am aware this Badge has only the one maker Paulmann & Crone

Thanks for the info. At one time I started collecting some tinnies but didn't get very far.

As for other 'silver' versions; I personally have a silvered Gau Munich. Take a look at the very bottom of this linked thread at postings #33 & #34 for photos:

Warning - Collecting tinnies can damage you pocket

Hello Tony, your silvered Gau Munich is one of the best examples I have seen and as you know is 100% period. There is at least one on the other posts that concern me a little though regarding their authenticity. I have now got several friends collecting Tinnies so they will all end up as crazy as me

I have 6 Gau Munichs with unique variations and this silvered one is by far my favorite. And you are correct. I've seen others that don't give me the warm and fuzzies but I did see one similar to mine at a show. Regrettably, when I returned to purchase, it was gone. Bill Shea of Ruptured Duck also had a silvered one in the not too distant future....looked nice.

My tinnie collection is limited...I have some common pieces but some real nice ones. I'll see if I can find photo and post them.

                  Outa My Tinnie Mind

Hello Tony, yes I would very much appreciate seeing the rarer Tinnies you have in your collection. The Book I am currently working on should illustrate well over 5000 Tinnies, both obverse and reverse.
                  Best Regards Martin

                      tinnies

here you go Martin...not much but there it is. btw, the 2 identical plastic ones are actually marked by different makers on the reverse. Also, I'm not sure on the 2 hunting ones.

Hello Tony, well regarding you collection of Tinnies what you lack in quantity you more than make up for in quality As you are no doubt aware there are some very desirable and sought after Tinnies you have there, especially the SA and SS examples. After all these years tinnies are finally taking off (price wise) and a well known Canadian dealer has literally trebled his asking prices on his new stock (I must buy his old stock before someone else beats me to the Tinnies he has left) For years Tinnies have been drastically underated, which is utterly amazing considering their Historical and Political significance, not to mention their stunning designs, incredibel artwork and with some examples die stamping & die casting of the highest degree.
                          Regards Martin

Tony, I would appreciate seeing a close up of the following Tinnies from your collection and if possible pictures of the reverses. And with your consent permission to use the pictures in the Book I am currently writing.
