Some days ago I got this one in. Really interesting how fine the details and quality is done. So I thought to share this one.

Thanks Erich. It is a georgeous badge. Does Craigs Gau Badge book go into much detail on the history of these badges or are there some other references out there which would provide more detailed information? I have lots of questions which may be common knowledge to many here and would like to do more research on these, for example what was the basis of the design chosen for each Gau's honor badge?

Hi Richard,
In response to your question, the event badge was issued by Gau Thüringia for the rally at Erfurt on June 4, 1933, which celebrated the tenth anniversary of the NSDAP in that district. On June 17, 1933, Gauleiter Fritz Sauckel issued the official Party District Commemorative Badge -- so undoubtedly both badge concepts were being developed at the same time.
And Erich,
Yet again I envy you in securing this beautiful cased example for your collection!
Cheers, friends,
Br. James
