        Looks OK to me too.

Stu..........you say you have just bought Kreis badges.

Did you notice that the back section of the HJ badge is identical to the back section of the Kreissieger badge? These sections were interchangeable by the maker.

        Another piece of useless information!

            Stan.
            That's what I was thinking.
I also bought one of these around the same time for about the same price.......and it probably hasn't increased in value by a penny since then!

Very nice and a good price......this is really one of my favorite awards of the whole Third Reich era and this is coming from one of the crazed PAB guys !

Interesting point Robin, I had not noticed this despite owning both and even having them displayed side by side...

Robin, how would they be interchangeable? I see they look very similar when you look at the obverse wreath but the rear of the HJ badges are usually marked with an RZM number that is raised and the sieger badges have a raised makers mark. This would mean that, at very least, if an obverse and reverse die were used, the reverse die would have to be different for the two badges. I've never taken apart a sieger badge but would speculate that the lettering and date on the obverse were an integral part of the die and therefore the lettering would need to be filed off of a completed, struck example to be used in the HJ badge.
