That's what I thought as well Torsten......it's nice to see something like this turning up in the UK once in a while.

It just shows you what is still out there waiting to be found.

            Wow, wow, and... WOW!!!

Simply amazing how extremely rare and significant pieces of NSDAP history can turn up when you least expect it. This is a truly remarkable find indeed.

Makes you wonder what else is out there, waiting to be rediscovered.

Robin, thanks for sharing this link. This is also the first time I have heard about the GMIC.

Rosenberg's is a nice one, but I think if I had a choice I would opt for one of Bormann's. Both a large and small example numbered to him are in collections.

                          Rosenberg Golden Party Badge

                          Hello Forum,
Excellent Rosenberg Piece....Can someone elaborate on why the vent hole on this historic Golden Party Badge is so large compared to other original examples?...Love to own one, just not skilled enough yet to purchase. Learning everyday. Thanks for your comments in advance.
                          Sincerely,
                          Bob Clark.

PS A pleasure to address you Mr. Lumsden, as I have some of your books in my collection.

Just curious (and mind you my knowledge of GPS's is rather limited) but wouldn't Rosenberg have been a prime candidate for a set of special presentation Golden Party Badges from Hitler? I'd imagine that he would have been near the very top of the list of recipients. I guess if he did receive them, he would have elected to keep them somewhere safe and therefore decided to wear the standard pieces.

Does anyone know approx. how many A.H. presentation GBP sets were awarded?

                            Rob

Rob you nailed it. Yes the owners of AH sets often already had the 'standard' GPB. I think the figure of 650 is the recognised amount of AH presented pin sets ,although I stand corrected.
