    Jon-

    Thanks for the reply.

Another question- what made an individual eligible for the standard GPB? Was there a cutoff number or join date regarding party membership, or was it done a different way?

I believe that the AH GPB were given to special individuals who didn't qualified for the regular GPB. That was the whole point of the AH GPBs. It wouldn't make sense to have both.

Klaus Patzwall in his book has a list of the AH badge recipients and I think it is 901 in total. He also lists a few members who had numbers under 100,000 who also received the AH Honour Badge badge in addition to their numbered Golden Party Badge.

To answer Rob's question, the Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP was authorized by a Hitler decree of October 13, 1933 to honor those Party Members who, as of November 9, 1933, had a registered membership number under 100,000 - provided their party membership had been active and uninterrupted since the NSDAP's re-founding on February 17, 1925. In fact, the NSDAP had already exceeded 100,000 members by mid-1930. More details are on my Golden Party Badge website.

                Hello quankle,

I really can´t believe in the originality of this badge - his correct name was

                Seyss-Inquart

and the first capital letter of his second name is a german "J". I don´t think that they would have used a wrong letter.

                Just my 5 cent.
