    Mr Saris:

I sent the photos to Stonemint and we determined that all three are fake. He may post them later. Sorry to get everyone's hope up.

I understand it. A real pity, but on what can one make a decision it to be a fake when one has never seen an original?
I know some "signs" tell me there might be something wrong, but still!!

In a way I'm glad that these caps are all judged to be faked caps...nothing agrees from one to another: the color of the tops and bands; the pattern of the chin straps; the presence or absence of piping and in what color(s); and even the cockades differ! What a mess!!

This one is from the Rayot book--not even close to being regulation:

BTW, is anyone aware of any surviving examples of the armband (or the metal plaque)? I would assume at least some of the latter survived, but I cannot recall seeing one.

Not being a collector of overseas caps, I cannot vouch for it, but it certainly looks legit, and follows the correct format (as pointed out by Wim).

great to see this cap. It must be good, as who knew a piped field-cap was used with the RKK insignia? If it was faked, they would have followed the wrong Nimmergut information!
This field-cap was worn when in service at events, but on the way to the event the visored cap had to be worn.
                                Thanks Thall…...

Stonemint: maybe members from WAF would like to see and know about the material I posted at WRF!
