"Sth" (Stahlhof of Magdeburg) is actually the manufacturing firm for the Service Entry badges. Badges were also produced by Godet (one of the 1918 versions) and Hoffstätter for a mini version.

      Der Stahlhelm 1930

I see no markings on the back of the badge and the back surface is mirror polished with a bit of burn mark near where the screw is mounted into the back of the badge. The screw back is marked RZM 115/41 with SS runes enclosed within a circle. It measures the correct 30mm. Its a heavy badge and I would weigh it but its a **** to take off of my cap. I am going a bit bonkers because I just bought ANOTHER ONE Ebay! If these badges are fakes, I am glad they were within budget. Thank you for all your help with a great hobby.Cheers, Bob

I was recently given a Stahlhelm pin as well. What is the significance of the engraved markings on the reverse? Do they pertain to a specific meeting or member #?

            Hi Dave1104,

Congrats on a fine Christmas present...or a fine present whenever you received it! The engraving details the personal information of the individual who received that particular Stahlhelm Bund Commemorative Badge; the individual’s Stahlhelm unit number and the date the individual joined the organization. "Mi." represents Group Mitte.

            Fröhliche Weihnachten to you,

            Br. James

              Hi Chris,

As I've said before, you have a wonderful collection of Stahlhelm Bund Commemorative Badges! The one I really personally covet is the 1918; I have all of the other years.

Fröhliche Weihnachten to you and yours,

              Br. James

To Boballen13 -- hi, and welcome among us -- it's good to have you here!

Sorry to say that the Stahlhelm Badge you describe does not sound like anything I've ever seen before. I'm afraid that sending in a photo or two is the only way to move this conversation forward...

Again, welcome to you, and Fröhliche Weinachten,

                Br. James

Mine is a complete set type 1 + 2 pin set up on the 1918. My holy grail
There is a new 1918 fake on the market so be careful

Will do, Chris, and many thanks for the alert!

                    Happy holidays,

Hi Br James. And a Merry Christmas to you as well. I don't suppose that there is any surviving lists of Stahlhelm members in order to match a member number to a name? Also, I assume that Group Mitte refers to the region of Germany?

                      Best,
                      Dave

                        Hi Dave,

A blessed Christmasstide to you and your family!

I have been collecting Stahlhelm Bund for over 20 years and have never seen any reference to the modern existence of a list of Bund members, either by number, name or group location...but that certainly doesn't mean that such a list -- or lists -- doesn't exist! There surely were such lists during the period. And yes, my assumption is that Group Mitte represented central Germany.

                        Best to you,

                        Br. James

                          Chris,

What a wonderful collection of Entry Badges. I have never seen one that extensive!

I thought I had read somewhere that you were getting out of collecting??

Are any of the 1918s from Godet (the black boxed one?)?
