    SA tunic, please help

    Hello,

I've this SA tunic. Directly vet son find. Never in collection & untouched.

The white/red stitched collar insert is for SA gruppe Thuringen? Am I right?
Tailor is in Eisenach that is a Thuringen town too.

What's the color of the collar patch? Have someone a photo with the original collar patch on tunic? I think it's green but I've find many different green collar patch. Thanks.

    Thanks.

Good looking tunic. It's a shame the tabs were taken off.

A fine-looking SA Tunic from 1934...too bad that someone scavenged the tabs and the armband, and probably the decoration, too (possibly an SA Sport Badge).

Agree with the prior posts. Most likely Thüringen, and if the rank is enlisted or NCO level, the shoulder strap would be red/white cord on an apple green underlay. Austrian groups also used red/white piping and did use steel green for the collar tabs and shoulder strap underlay, but this was eliminated in the early 30s.

Are we saying an SA manns tailor/wife sewed that piping on? It's poorly done, clearly showing to the front of the tunic like that?

I never said you did or I would have directed my point to you, I am questioning the standard of the sewing on what would be an SA Manns best tunic

                      Thanks for all answer.
Notton yes it's the same tunic. You've good memories.
I've post it again because I've find these 2 collar tab on weitze update & can't find my 2 years old post:

It seems that no one of these 2 set can go on my tunic.

The first pair are not Thüringen tabs--they're steel green rather than apple green. Thüringen tabs are much lighter in color.
The second pair is the right color, but I believe these were part of the batch found in a tailoring shop or something like that. I would try to find a pair that aren't part of the unused hoard.
Re the piping--it looks fine to me. After the tunic was worn and cleaned, the piping may have twisted a bit, causing the attachment thread to show from the front. From period photos, though, I think this would be completely acceptable as is.

Was it a common for the RZM labels to be the same color as the corresponding gruppe or is this just a coincidence.
