    Small armband opinion

    How does this armband look, late war small version. Came from a vets estate with 1940 Der Adler magazine and misc ww2 items.

                Jo Rivett has shown that these printed armbands are not late war, but very early items shown in a period catalog. The regulations prohibiting printed armbands are clear but the early catalog shows them offered prior to the regulation against printed armbands being put in place.

                    I just found a reference by a dealer with one of these narrow printed armbands for sale. He says that Narrow Printed Party Armband
                    was to be worn on the lower left sleeve of civilian clothing.


                    He References "Cloth Insignia of the NSDAP and SA" by John R. Angolia, page 95
                    Does anyone have this book, and does it reference these armbands on page 95?

                      That only applies on the larger printed types IMO. This type is likely late war, since some of these are even stamped/printed for volkssturm use.

                        This one was used after July 1944 when the NSDAP assumed control over all aspects of civil defense...........
