Hi Gary,

Party Members who received membership numbers in the 17000 series joined in August/September of 1925, the first year the new membership system was in place. The system utilized to assign individual membership numbers did this in groups, so it is possible for a slightly lower number to have a membership date of a month or so later than another member. This was a very hectic time for the Reichsschatzmeister's Office and I'm sure his small staff did the best they could with the influx of new members!

That is really surprising a 1928 date. Sepp Dietrich had a number in the 86,000 range and he joined in 1928.
