I agree with our colleagues: a very nice, original small Deschler GPB with a solid history and in "worn" condition -- which I always like to see! The large mate to this piece was part of the John Pepera Collection auctioned by HH last year; it would be great to see them reunited!

OOPS!! Thanks for double-checking me, Erich! As a matter of fact, I knew this was a large Deschler when I wrote my response, but somehow the word "small" got into my note text before I hit "Submit Reply!!" My bad, friends, though I still think this is a good piece and that it should be reunited with it's mate...also a large Deschler w/safety pin, though the one from the Pepera Collection had a replaced pin...if memory serves.

What is unusual is the lack of the Deschler maker mark and address on the fixed, center retaining plate.

An interesting observation, Gary! Perhaps this is a replacement pin? Now I wonder if this is the same piece from John Pepera's Collection that was auctioned by HH last year? That large Deschler had a replaced pin...?!?!
