For what it's worth, the 1940 edition Org Buch does specify ribbon length of 25cm for the ribbon length.

Hi gauost, great medal bar, thanks for showing it. Any chance of a closer, clearer shot of the 15yr? Looks like this type but hard to be sure at this distance (courtesy of Tom Y's excellent collection)

      Thanks

      Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        For comparison:

The nicest example I've ever owned (unfortunately I don't any longer).

        Box marked M1/120.

            Hi Josh,

Thanks for showing these 2 beauties.

The Deumer-marked Carton (M1/120) doesn't have a Deumer cross in it, which seems odd since it looks mint and untouched. The cross is rather Unknown Maker #2.

The second set you show (M1/170) is a correct match with the correct Mayer cross in it.

Keep em coming guys, lovely sets.

            Tom

I have the medal alone and believe it is hallmarked on it's suspension ring....It has a longer than usual ribbon on it.....If my memory serves me correctly, I remember the number on the ring as being '2'.....I will dig it out and check....Bodes

                Hi Bodes,

That would make sense since Mayer's M11 number was 2.

Thanks for the confirmation, gorgeous cross my friend.

Thanks Tom, I always assumed '2' was for C.E. Junckers, but nice to know that Mayer is a proper manufacturer for this award.....Bodes

These are very small, so to speak of great detail - if that refers to details on the obverse - is quite an exaggeration. Was just not feasible.

I do not understand the thrust of your argument. IMO the obverse shows great detail wrt the enamelling. What is not feasible?
