By being suspicious of how and why it was de-faced or de-Nazified you are calling it suspect.

Not every TR discovery has to be &^$% until proven good. Listen to the folks that see this stuff all the time in Germany. Many things are only part de-Nazified. IT makes total sense and it is common sense to believe it is exactly what it looks like, original and could be found as stated.

You are putting words in my mouth that I never uttered.
If you think it is common sense to believe it is what it's purported to be- that is certainly your right. It would be nice if you could extend me the same courtesy.
By calling me embarrassing for simply asking questions about items on a forum designed for sharing information, not only you show your ignorance but the way I see it- you're trying to insult me much like our taco loving friend who ran out of arguments above.
I would think someone with your IQ should have a low voice too but you do make yourself quite vocal here which is quite surprising.

Well Kelly, I give what I get. But believe me when I say I don't want to make an ass out of you, it wouldn't be fair for me to take all the credit.

I asked questions about the item during a discussion which quickly became about me asking questions rather the item itself.
I would understand if you entered the discussion about the item or even commented about it but you casually strolled in here and called me an embarrassment without even touching on the item itself. If that is not a insult that has nothing to do with item at hand, I am not sure what is.

Following the story is exactly what this is but since I am not really interested in following the stories but rather the items itself, I proposed to concentrate on that instead. Well, that apparently did not sit well with some. Now I understand if you don't want to let your brains wander in that direction- or any direction for that matter- after all it is too small to be let out alone but why stand in a way of someone else who does?
I question almost everything, most of the time- it helps me gather knowledge when others respond with their knowledgeable posts. Sadly you're not in that group. But on the other hand- you don't make me mad with your attempts at insults either. And why should you when there is no vaccine against stupidity?

But all that aside, let me ask: What exactly are you bringing to the table in the discussion of a marble AH plaque?

My first post was #31 entering the discussion and agreeing with the MAJORITY about it. That was to show you hey, give it arrest in a polite way. But no you have to go on and on with more insults to others with a nonsense argument. So I later posted give it a rest. If you look I took out the word embarrassing within a 20 minutes as that was a bit harsh. So maybe back the insults off a little ok.

I don't have to have any further knowledge on the issue as other more experienced people that live in Germany have stated it's good and is seen all the time with TR items found. That's all we need. YEs I said we. And the OP has seen it first hand and touched it.

If I was you after reading what others have said I would have just agreed with them and let the thread carry on in a respectful and knowledgeable manner. But you choose to make it stink.

How many times have we seen people get off on a wrong tangent in threads and later see the light or have to agree with more knowledgeable people? This case speaks of this IMO.

The first thing a collector needs to do if he wants to learn something is to make sure the first thing he does when he gets out of bed in the morning is to take his head out of his ass. If he fails to do that then there is no sense in explaining anything to him as he is insulated within his rectum and will find himself boxed in with tunnel vision. Sometime's the obvious is just obvious and requires no discussion. The amount of B.S chest thumping and negativity is at such a high on the web in general that some people can not help but to piss on things they know nothing about, and when you stand up and say something your backed up with a challenge to prove its real. Get lost because your screwing with things that you dont know and your telling people that things are bad or require discussion, they don't, not all of them. And if you want to follow a guru you better pick the right ones because some of them are flat out full of S**t.

So Matt, you picked your fight as usual and you got one but your not learning anything with your head up your ass. Get that fixed and maybe you can look at things as they are. A lot of people are real tired of this and they are leaving, and the slots are being filled with some knowledgeable people and some are being filled by idiots, so if your a new collector this is what you need to learn, and you cannot learn it on a forum most times. These items need to be seen, they need to be handled, they need to be recognized and you cannot get that information from books and idiots, you need to touch these items and get out and handle them. The book that is really needed, is to identify the idiots and the frauds, because that takes years to learn.

Gents, I'm admittedly a late comer to the conversation, but have been following the thread. As far as applying any sense of consistency as regards the "logic" applied when dealing with how T.R. period symbolism was "de-Nazified" or otherwise hidden, destroyed, or altered in the post-war period, it's probably bordering on impossible. Suffice to say, if there was a lake handy, I'm sure lots got tossed into it. If a building was being resurfaced, it was covered up, or perhaps somehow defaced in the interim in the interest of expediency, in order to, if nothing else, placate whatever local authority was calling the shots. I have many friends in Germany, and have traveled there extensively over the years and in that time, have seen COUNTLESS examples of T.R. period building embellishments, etc, that simply had the swastika hammered out of them, etc, whereas the OBVIOUSLY Third Reich style eagle and wreath remained totally intact to this day. As a matter of fact, I have seen, on a private residence, a memorial plaque to a soldier, lost on the eastern front, displayed on the side of the home, which depicts an iron cross, onto which the Hakenkreuz was hammered out after the war, however the profile thereof is still plainly obvious if you scrutinize it, and the plaque is still there for all to see. In a nutshell, I personally don't doubt the legitimacy of the piece that started this thread, and as there is certainly no strict regulation (at least that I've ever heard of), as regards the post war de-Nazification process, I don't understand the reasoning behind all of the controversy that this thread has incited.

What light? Show me one hard fact in this discussion- we still don't know what it is, or anything else about the item and you're talking about seeing the light?
Only attempt to characterize it kinda hit the wall IMO (the dates jive part) and you'd have me believe not only it is what you think it is but everything else about it is crystal clear too.

Knowledgeable people in the marble plaques dept? Aha, I met a few knowledgeable in their own minds but that's about it. Are you one of the knowledgeable ones?
