"Unser Gruss ist Heil Hitler" - My Last Enamel Shield - Still Mounted on Wood Backing

Although I do have similar tiny door sized one, from a once humble collection of about 12 or so enamel signs this is all that remains; my favorite. Large and very heavy with wood attached!

Reportedly torn down from wooden post on a train station platform. You can see where the wood was splintered on the reverse as it was ripped down and the shadow of the wooden post on the wood. The sign corners are affixed with heavy (looks like hand made) nails.

Anybody have similar signs? The side to side head movement looking for witnesses called, the "German Look" was done by many because of this mandatory greeting. These signs were said to be ubiquitous.

I do not collect, but a friend of mine owns some (with variations no red border, but black instead). I guess the one you show is slightly vaulted and has a size of about 30.0 x 49.5 cm? They are for pure propaganda-purposes!
I see now yours is 35.0 cm.

Thanks for the feedback. This is the only enamel sign I encountered still attached to the original backing.

Wilhelm - The sign was more than propaganda, it was a reminder to all "Germans" it was compulsory to greet one another with "Heil Hitler" vs. Guten Tag at all times. The looking around for witnesses before avoiding this greeting started the term "German Look" (der Deutscher Blick).
