Although I do have similar tiny door sized one, from a once humble collection of about 12 or so enamel signs this is all that remains; my favorite. Large and very heavy with wood attached!
Reportedly torn down from wooden post on a train station platform. You can see where the wood was splintered on the reverse as it was ripped down and the shadow of the wooden post on the wood. The sign corners are affixed with heavy (looks like hand made) nails.
Anybody have similar signs? The side to side head movement looking for witnesses called, the "German Look" was done by many because of this mandatory greeting. These signs were said to be ubiquitous.
