Hello everyone. Do you would express an opinion on the bowl with sieg rune. The bowl is production WMF Cromargan. Best regards Martin

Maybe that's of interest to you ... A link to a corporate presentation of WMF ("Württembergische Metallwaren-Fabrik") with some historical Data and information. The trademark "Cromargan" was protected 1930

That makes sense, that the WFM did coin the Cromargan, but did the WMF actually make pieces for the SS?

          Yeah, they did.

That bowl has a very good chance to be original.

I agree 100% the bowl is period....but are the RUNES... So easy to embellish these.... I certianly wouldn't pay a high "SS" premium.

              I'd be very skeptical.....

This is embellished and you could tie up a chin strap configuration and poke a bunch of holes in it and use it as a helmet/strainer for pasta. How do people become so gullible.

                  Bowl

I agree that there's a good chance the SS runes were added post-war, but "gullible" is kinda harsh. That's the problem with such SS artifacts - there's often nothing to compare to, so it's a shot in the dark. Rare SS-marked item...........or post-war embellishment? Without provenance, it's usually wise to steer clear of such items. As for the metal bowl in this post - at least it's very well done. I wouldn't be so quick to discount this one. Problem is...............such pieces always leave you in doubt. Better to stick with items that aren't questionable.

Still skeptical, but is "good enough" that I might take a chance if it came from a "good source" (Vet./vet. family, non-collector/dealer "yard sale", "old" collection...); was cheap (Not more than $45./50.); and I had "money to burn".

Skeptical, but I agree this has a "25% chance"..... I'd display it if I liked what I saw "in hand".....
