Sorry but I don't like it. The details just seem wrong and different from what I would see in a text book Nuremberg Desk eagle. There are many examples of those on this forum.

All RzM variants... Which I know for sure aren't the only ones. The detail in this one is much better than those and the fake Indonesian type.

So obviously you only think the rzm variants are good? I guess you haven't seen the other non rzm variants posted to this forum?

It's a friends and he received it as a gift from an old timer. Not much else for the story sorry. There are just a few of these known to exist and were sold as original is all I know. The detail is fantastic. I myself am pretty optimistic of them.

Several of these have popped up in the last couple years, none have been correct and were offered as original and from a couple of the large "Genius dealers". The base is not to the piece and not really fond of the cast or color and cannot tell what the base metal is but it looks like lead. I see you are digging your heels in a tad bit as well so I sent the photos to a buddy who is real good with this material for a 2nd opinion and he does not like it either. It would really need to come off the base to see what that looks like but its definitely been played with.

Here is one that I recently acquired. The pictures don't do it justice; it is silver but the lighting makes it look gold.

                          Hi Rlmike,

This one I like, beautiful textbook HB flatback example on its original base with lovely patination of its silver plating -congratulations.

                          Cheers

The bird that xtruckerx refers to is an example of an eagle that was posted on the WRF for opinions- i attach photos from the WRF thread. There are plenty of examples of these on the net for sale (including one recently sold by Thomas Wittmann that was posted in this forum recently). Personally this is not one I would have but plenty of people seem to buy them for good money so I guess some folks must consider them period.

Once again , you cannot compare these with the more common RZM variants. I myself can see why people beleive these to be authentic. Whoever produced these , they made sure it to be of top quality. I wouldn't mind having both haha.
