Hey guys I thought to share this story to remind all of you collectors who are looking for a Blood Order never to give up,keep your eyes and ears open and keep going !
3 Blood Orders in the past 12 months have sold for no more than 1000€, yes THREE
Firstly let me say that only one of these three ended up in my collection, but I'm not complaining,I know even that is fortunate
I won't use names or numbers but call them Order A,B,C.
Order A sold from a small part time UK dealer/collector who appeared to have either fallen out of date with his values or mis valued the order. He sold it at a small local fair. The 'dealer' bought it from a old lady who found it in the back of her sofa, brought back years before by her husband and mis-placed !
Order B was sold by a smaller German dealer who must have presumed it was a copy.Nice for a collector to gain from a dealer for a change !
Order C was sold in a Dutch coin auction with no ribbon and was a first pattern. This one is the most annoying for me as I was contacted by a collector who knew it was there and asked my opinion of the medal,I told him it was good and I would be interested in buying it from him.Obviously he did not wish to give me the auction details,of course I can understand that !. But then he did not bid over 1000€ and it sold at a few€ more !!
So there you are. Bargains can still be had ,even for the most expensive and rare items.
Good hunting
