Sean, what kind of list is this?

I have a copy of the shaef list the allies put together with all or mostly all SA units on it, this was used after the war investigating the SA and found the SA NOT to be an illegal organisation such as the SS and NSDAP which were deemed illegal, i find this odd due to the role the SA had in Kristalnacht and ad hoc KLs after 1933 but thats another thread i suppose

I obtained my copy from the right honourable Bob Coleman some time ago, I do not think it is available commercially, Sean

Just found this in my SA collection box. I bought it a while ago and I think it´s a SA shoulderboard from the group Südwest or Mitte for the rank until Obertruppführer (SA Senior Troop Leader, equiv. Sergeant Major).

Shoulderboard

No, not Mitte or Sudwest. This is the 2nd pattern (1938-1945) SA shoulderboard worn by ALL enlisted ranks. Unlike the 1st pattern shoulderboards, the wool base color designated specialty - in this case, orange = "Cavalry". It could have been worn by any SA Cavalry unit. (Right shoulder only on brownshirt, and both shoulders on tunic.)
