A couple of Cultural items

Wonderful items I must be one of the few people who think the cultural items such as the plates are some of the most interesting things out there. To bad hardly any sites focus on it and they almost never come on estand ( or I miss them) so I am stuck searching ebay and fairs.

I think that we're the bastard child of Militaria collecting ,but with threads like this, more collectors may see the importance of art and culture to those who lead the Third Reich.

Wonderful! Can you tell us anything about the wall hanging? What rune is on the chest on the lower left? I cannot make it out. I see the sunwheels and the odal but cannot see the lower left rune.

To everybody's questions-- below is all the info I have right now:

"There is only this picture, -the rune on the left is the Lebensrune and the plates have the inscription: Ehret die Scholle die uns ernährt and the other one is only with Korn around."

So on the chest is actually lying a wooden SS wedding plate and the one with the surrounding carved grain is a wooden Jul plate - both are described and shown within two pictures in the Weitzel book.

I have found some other chests in old auction catalogues.One from the Hanseatisches Auktionshaus and the other from Hermann Historica.You see guys,there must be more of them

Very true, you just have to look at the Hex Signs on barns in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

It looks rather modern and dare I say the horses heads look almost, hard to explain but sort of 'comic'.

It would be interesting to know what the history to this piece is, is it pre-'45 or new, can you ask the owner?

The owner means it is a kind of Sippenteller made pre 1945.

To each his own! One has to be comfortable WITH what they have in their collections. For me it's no. JMO.
