Rob, your doing pretty well there with 40 1st patt accounted for,my archive keeping is a little more sloppy than yours Had to get away from my old pc in a rush and lost lots of data so my archives are mostly in my head Did you get number 100 down? Missed out on that a few years ago.
I have 8 1st patt in my collection. I was contacted by a collector this week who claims to have 25 medals in his collection!!! But does not share photos with other collectors so god knows if thats true.
I would say prob 450/500 in total and maybe 150/200 first patt in the world.But its really only guesswork and I keep changing my estimation !

Yes, I do have #100 in my archive

8 first patterns is, well... amazing! Based on what we know is out there, you've got what is probably a good 10 to 15% (give or take of course) of the surviving 1st patterns The pictures you posted are just awe inspiring. I know how it feels to own one first pattern, but to own some of the single orders and groupings you have, as well as those possession documents, well......... you must be in Blutorden nirvana You've definitely built up a collection to be truly proud of my friend.

Erich, your examples are equally as impressive! I've been keeping a eye out for a nice, low numbered cased second pattern, as I'd like to add one to my collection eventually.

Hi Rob, the cased second pattern is a must to complete your BO collection. Mine is numbered 2793 which is pretty early, awarded in late 1939. IMO, the second pattern is a very important award in it's own right due to the much personal sacrifice or death that it took to earn one.
