      Blood Orders

      Jon,

Really great to see your collection of BO's.

Here is a rare AAD badge in Gold which I bought several years ago and which apparently belonged to Gauleiter Loeper. Of course, that cannot be proved but that was the claim of the vendor.

I think the 1st patterns are some of the most significant and truly rare pieces of 3rd Reich militaria produced, and to be honest I'd be really upset if I didn't have at least one example in my collection! I don't collect political items (well, except for NSDAP membership books to GPB recipients) but I consider my 1st pattern Blood Order to be one of the centerpieces of my entire collection.

Oh what the hell I've posted it before, but here it is again... my cased 1st pattern Blutorden #274 originally awarded to SS-Untersturmführer Otto Ertl who served as the standard bearer for the 1.SS-Standarte "Julius Schreck" and, thanks to a very good friend of mine, I have now located "two" period photos of Otto Ertl with this very blood order in wear

        Rob
Rob, a great BO and the photos of it in wear , I never tire of seeing it. Best, Erich

Interesting Stan, are there any markings on it ?
Also did the vendor have any thing else from Loeper?

I'm not sure what the token represents. It translates as 'Demonstration' it must be an entry token to some type of demo or meeting ,any one come across this before?

                  Blood Orders

                  Jon,

The AAD 1932 Badge in Gold was sold together with some other very rare awards but this was the only item attributed to Loeper. The reverse is plain with a screw attachment.

Here is my cased 1st-pattern BO awarded to PG Heinz Kiessling, SA Regt Munchen Company 9.

These medals were true works of art. Here's a close up of the obverse of my 1st pattern which really shows the detail on these medals.

Dats what Im talkin Bout !! You said you didnt know why you didnt buy one when they were 800. That was a lot of money 20 years ago. Even in the 60s 5.00 an hour was good money. I think we just didnt realize the significance of some of this stuff... I really like the early version....the details of the eagles feathers are well executed. I dont have one either...............................yet

The guy in #35&36 appears like he has had bells paulsey....by the drooping right side of his mouth.
