Schlageter was not considered a martyr until after the assumption of power. It's also unsure on whether he was an actual a Party member.

I think that this is the bronze plaque that has the same design as the one on my poster and being from the same 1942 event. I'm yet to see another porcelain 10yr aniversary Coburg plate to date.

Here's an itnteresting plaque being offered by Winkler. Note that it's from the same event in 1942 as the poster that I have in my collection. More rare items seem to be hitting the market as of late.

Erich, the First Memorial service held (on recommendation of the NSDAP) for Leo Schlageter was on the 10th June 1924, and since that day, they "used" him as a Martyr for their cause. so long before the assumption of power. (Only Hitler himselfwas against this and did not take part in the first few Memorial meetings)
As far as him being a NS member, all that is recorded is that he was a member of the: Nationalsozialen Vereinigung and later the: Deutschvölkische Freiheitspartei.
He took part in the 1923 First Parteitag as an "Observer"

Thanks for the additional information Josef. Those killeed at the War Ministry and Feldherrnhalle were the first killed in actual service to the Party and that's why I think that they were the first official Martyrs of the Movement.
