Here's a photo from the MAX show thread, posted by George Stimson showing the award document which is hard to make out, and CB attributed to Maurice on the right side of the photo.

If you look in the back ground of this picture behind the display case is the shadow box containing the BO grouping. I wish that I took a camera!

At the MAX,I was talking with Steve Wolfe, who has probably handled more Coburg badges than anyone. I asked him if he has ever seen a cased example. He said no, but in his opinion, he thinks that the badges was issued in envelopes due to the fact that only so few were awarded. This hypothesis makes a lot of sense to me due to the fact no cases have ever been seen to my knowledge.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were personally handed out to the recipients with no case, envelope, or other container. The original awarded pieces had the thin sharp pin, so they might have been pinned to the pocket at whatever ceremony was held.

              Et al,

Concerning the Eugen Bruschwiler Blood Order grouping, #650, his NSDAP number as noted on his NSDAP book and the Gold Party award document 'Urkunde' is # 10020. Here are a few pictures of a very unusual three piece set in my collection.

Maybe someday this grouping to be complete will be reunited.

Fantastic John. Steve mentioned you owned the GPB to the set and the circumstances that the set currently finds itself in. I for one would love to own the set and like you say re-unite the pieces.Don't expect I am the only one who would like to either

In photo 136 there are 5 Knights Crosses. Why would he be awarded the Knights Cross 5 times?
Are these extra copies made for him?

Those are not all from the same person.

The display is showing many high end personality items, you can see for example Skorzeny's knight cross. (At least i think it is after judging this picture!).

Either way Wolfe has some very impressive items there.

Thanks for showing your impressive threesome John, and hope that someday is united to complete the fabulous Blood Order grouping that I was fortunate to see at the MAX.

Erich, this also makes sense due to the very small number of recipients and before the assumption of power before things became much more official.

The new (Summer 2010) issue of 'Military Advisor' has an article about the Bruschweiler BO and paperwork being re-united, along with the GPB document, and a lot more.
