A great photo Jon and thanks for posting it. I find Sister Pia a very interesting personality and one of the very few true female Old Fighters.

            Fascinating

This is a very interesting thread on a most interesting badge given to a small handful of early party members. A British website called www.falleneagle.com has one of these listed for about $3600. It does not have an RZM mark o the reverse, has a thick pin that is stated to have been repaired. It comes with a "letter of guarantee" by a gentleman named Adrian Forman. What do you think - thumbs up or thumbs down? Should I save up for this or wait for another day?
            Thanks,
            Dirik Lolkus

It's hard to make a 100% call on this badge but it does look good to me from what I can see. Not all of the 2nd type badges had an RZM marking although most did. The price he's asking seems more than fair but An in hand inspection is needed before purchasing one of these rare badges.

I just want to add that all the reproduction badges that I have seen to date are of the 2nd type badges with the thick pin.

Since the door was opened, I had to look up the woman who I had seen wearing the Blood Order:

Hi John, yes she was one of the rare female Alte Kampfer with Hitler from the very early days of the Party. It's interesting to note that she was not a Nun but a Nurse.

The document for the Coburg badge is something I have sought for years, with no success.

                      here are my two examples.

Thanks Bob for posting your two fantastic pieces. My hope is that this Thread will continue to add more original examples and information on this very rare badge.
Has anyone ever seen a cased example?

The CB was held in such high regard by the SS/Party that any SS member who was awarded the CB or GPB was automatically awarded the TK Ring regardless of their rank. I took a look at the 1943 SS Dienstaltersliste and found that every officer that was awarded the CB was also awarded the ring. Then looking at those awarded the Blood Order, there were more than a few not awarded the ring. So, my question was the CB held in higher regard than the BO?

This is a very nice badge...I have to admit I favor the style with the thin round pin...Very nice photo Erich...two nice pieces in wear!

                                Cheers,
