Maybe until now it slipped through but I think there is more infos given about the Deutscher Tag in Koburg by Albert Speer quoting Hitler in his book "Erinnerungen".

Thanks for that Erich. I like those early Agfa and Kodakchrome colour photographs and its nice to see one with the Coburg badge on. I am another of those interested people who think the badge is often not seen as the highly regarded award it truly was.
Maybe one day I will own one
      Regards
      Matt

Those who have the CB listed in their service records but were not on the original list of the 436 recipients, shows how much the badge must have been coveted.

As collectors of these pieces of history, it's always interesting to see the up to date market value is on them. After doing some research here is what have I found:
          1st type CB = 7500-8000 USD.
          2nd type CB = 4500-5000 USD.
Like most rare TR items the CB has held it's value even during these tough econmic times.

Here's a photo of Karl Woerlein who was born in 1906 that was posted on another forum. This would have made him only 16 at the time of the March on Coburg. It seems that there was at least a few Jungstrum Hitler members involved in the street fighting!

Was Woerlein on the list of the original 400+ recipients? He wasn't a party member either. Neither was Weitzel. If Woerlein was a participant, then there is reason to believe that Weitzel was too.

If there were 800 participants in the march, why was the list only 400+?

Yes Joe, Woerlein's on the original list. That's a good question regarding 800 at Coburg and only 436 awarded. The same can be said for the Putsch with 3000 or more SA/Party members there and only 1500 BOs awarded.

                  Jon, not my photo unfortunately.

Great photo Erich and many thanks to the original poster/owner for making it available for us to see. It can't get much better than this!

I aways wondered how these youngsters talked their parents into letting them go with this guy Hitler to go and do battle in the streets?

Yes, a great photo, Erich -- doesn't that look like the top of a GPB on his lower left pocket? From the DAL I see that he wasn't an NSDAP member, nor did he receive the Honorary GPB, according to Patzwall.

Yes that looks to be a GPB. He would have to be a party member to have received the BO as per regulations.

A little more info on Woerlein:
Party # 786,883, so probably an Honorary GPB.
During the Putsch he was with the SA Munichen.

Is he in Patzwall's book on honorary GPB's ?

Wearing his GPB below and to the right of his Coburg Badge? I would have thought the GPB would take precedence in posiyion, even more so if it was an AH Ehrenzeichen. Looks more like the position of a sport badge. The top forms an arc, but not a true circle of a GPB, nor is there any glint of enamel.
