I think those who missed it would probably be banging their heads....

I also noticed that the plaque was mounted slightly uneven from the wooden base.
Would such sloppy handiwork make it through or is it just me?
The Corburger receipients were highly esteemed members and I was expecting a higher quality piece.
        Sorry to rant on.

          Andreas,

May I ask, what is your document as posted,

          "Ehren Karte"
          "Mit Hitler in Coburg"

          Very nice!

          Thanks,

          John

Looks like it was a three day celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Coburg March. The sporting event was held during the celebration. The document looks to be an Ceremonial Ticket to the Gauleiter's reception the afternoon of the 16th at the Town Hall in Coburg. There might be a better translation for Ehren-Karte, but I can't think of it right now. But they had to be in their seat by 3:15pm.

              Joe,

Perhaps Andreas is busy or away or sleeping. However, I knew that we could depend on you.

              Thanks much.

IMO, the real prize between these two pieces is by far the Ehren-Karte. How many of these do you think survived? Not too many!

                    Coburg Invitation

This is a VIP invitation to attend the 20th Anniversary celebration . There is a reception with the Gauleiter in the town hall in Coburg on Friday 16th October at 16:00. Places must be taken by 15:15.

Very nice piece of history indeed!

The 1937 book "I knew Hitler" by Kurt Ludecke has a whole chapter on Coburg. It's a good read by someone who was actually there but not easy to find.

                        Andreas,

The two pieces are great adds to any political collection and in my opinion not only extremely rare but unique.

                        Erich,

Thank you for adding the link to the Coburg chapter of Mein Kampf.

                          Hermann historica online!

And there seem to be quite some special political items to look at - including the early Blood Order.

But no Coburg badges from what I can see.
