I think it to be a cast copy, done by a non-professional.

      Dear all,

Just posting a collage of images of the coburg mini stickpin to aid discussion.
Take note that the second and third on the top row are the same pin.

Coburg Plate and Plaque on Ratisbons!

I just got done looking through the Ratisbon's auction and was pleased to see 2 other Coburg rarities - a Coburg plate and the metal portion of the 1941 Memorial Plaque.

Both are exceptionally rare and I only know of a few in collections.

Looks like the plate set a new record price: high bit was 1,940 EUR !

Though it does not really belong here, but the GPB sold for a high bid of 1,605 EUR. The high bidder may want to refer to this thread from 2004.

                  I guess, it’s a game of opinions!

                    Hi Andreas,

I didn't have a chance to look at the latest Ratisbon's offerings -- are you saying that the fake large GPB discussed way back in 2004 has raised it's head again at this auction? If so, SORRY to hear that!!

Wow. 1940 euros, I assume with 20% commission equals to 2328 euros; or US$2744 in today's money. I guess pieces related to the Coburg event are now sky rocketing as badges have literally dried up, or are sought after. A few years ago, no one wanted these plates. How times have changed!

                              What a surprise

This plate comes to me today by a local dealer in an original Box, the plate hast Never seen the sun, it was never hanging on a wall, you can see an unused original ribbon. These plates were produced by Max Roesler in the near of Coburg, so it is possible that this one survived in his box after it was bought in 1937.
