Thank you so much for all your hard work. This has to be one of the most interesting Third Reich stories I have ever read - the honesty and sheer simplicity shine through the entire transcript - you can't make this kind of thing up.

Thanks everyone for the nice words, Georg saw the thread and was happy with the final draft, although he could not read it in English fully.
He saw the various SA uniforms we collectively posted and other political items and was much suprised the uniforms survived, he certainy smiled at the Golden Pheasants uniforms(i think he had an issue with those guys)
If hes up to speaking more in July i shall try and cover some areas I missed, and lastly a big thans to K, she made it possible with her patience and translation, Sean, June 2009

Excellent effort with superlative results! Could you, the next time you meet, ask about the SA Dagger? I'm interested in learning just how important they were to recipients. He may have also received a Rohm dagger, given his date of entry into the SA. Maybe you could ask him about that, and the "grinding" of inscriptions after the purge. Thanks again for a wonderful contribution to our understanding of history.

Very nice...I've had the chance to talk with a member of the Volksturm that saw limited combat and 2 U-Boat guys. Always good stuff to hear these guys side of things.
