Hi guys,

This object is about the size of the palm of your hand. It's metal with a gold color wash or paint of some sort on it. Any idea what it is?

Yours is a cast copy, judging by its appearance. These plaques are very sharp and clear and have a finished reverse. I suspect yours is a casting of an original.
