From The Images, I Believe The Fanfar Trumpet Is Original. The Embossed Eagle On The Piece Clsely Resembles Examples I Have Seen On Bugles. With It In Hand, You Must Be The Final Jucge If It Is 60+ Years Old

I have seen the bugles, but rarely the trumpets. It looks correct and a standard banner would fit real nice on that.

Don't know the price or value, but if reasonable I think I would be o.k with it. My question is was it plated or is that the original finish???.

Most of these were brass, at least the few I remember seeing. But even if it was, hell its brass underneath.

The one thing that bothers me is why is there a scroll over the eagle? Does it have a number on the scroll or is this a copy of a bann flag eagle that someone who didn't know the meaning of the scroll used for the design of the eagle? I have never seen a bugle with this scroll on the design used on the bugle.

asked seller about the marking above the eagle and apparently its the makers name sent pics but they are far from good but apparently it says

anyway to find out if this is a period nmaker of these trumpets

It looks promising. The one thing that's not there is the reinforcing collar around the bell of the horn. I've seen some signal horns and fanfare trumpets on dealer sites and tables without it, but 99% have it. The HJ insignia looks okay to me--I'll look at one of my signal horns to check, but I believe they all have the scroll above.
It would also be helpful to see the style of the connectors holding the coils of tubing apart. The new ones are made fairly cheaply with a 'u' shaped flat piece of brass, whereas the older ones have a fancier support.

I suspect the name is Hess, which was a large music store that advertised heavily in period magazines and newspapers.
