Ehrenliste der Ermordeten der Bewegung
Received an email from Chris Ailsby who drew my attention again to the above list published often in party literature. This Ehrenliste provides the names of those who died in the name of the party from 1923 through the last year I have found-1942=published in the 1943 Jahrbuch der NSDAP. Chris believes that those past authors mentioned above were referring to this list an were contending that my being listed, were equated with those on whom were bestowed the Blood Order. Collectors with the works of those authors can read and decide for themselves.
But searching for information on the Ehrenliste, I reached for the Organisationsbuch and as usual, the NSDAP provided some interesting answers. The Ehrenliste was the responsibility of the Hilfskasse (Aid Fund) of the NSDAP administered by Reichsschatzmeister Schwarz in Hauptamt VII. It was established by order of Hitler to provide aid to the next of kin of those who died in the cause of the party. The diplomat v. Rath is listed on the Ehrenliste as was Heydrich, the last entry I could find. So this is the financial aid to the NoK that was mentioned above.
