Since Geli Raubal's Suicide, It Has Often Been Rumored That She And Maurice Were In Love. Hitler Refused To Have The Relationship Go Any Further. Maurice Fell Out Of Favor For Several Years, Eventually Reknewing It. The Reverse Of The Card Reads(apologies To My German Colleagues If I Did Not Translate This Properly)"to My Dear Emil! With Many Kisses, From Your Geli." This Card Is Historical In That It Confirms The Relationship. I Also Have A Photo Of The Two Fo Them On A Ski Trip. I Won't Post It As I Do Not Want Some One To Steal The Image.

OOPS!! I POSTED MAURICE'S DEATH NOTICE

          Now, Let's Try It Again.
One Final Note, In Maurice's Notes On The Stosstruppe Blood Order Badge, He Noted They Were Awarded The Evening Of 9 November, 1933, Commemorating The 10th Anniversary Of The Putsch. One Of Our Other Colleagues On This Forum Also Owns One Of These Badges That He Posted Previously In Another Forum. One Day, We Had A Chance To Compare The Two Side By Side When We Met For Coffee

Bob was kind enough to show me this grouping some time back, and it was akin to being hit by a Panzerfaust round! Incredible! There are a few other Maurice pieces in collections, but no grouping like this that I'm aware of.
I remember reading, when Himmler was contemplating making things tough for Maurice, Hitler told him that 'I decide who is a Jew and who isn't'. Needless to say, no one seemed to bother Maurice after that!

One more question, I assume that he was also awarded the Blood Order. Did that survive?

ERICH IS CORRECT. YEARS BACK, THE FAMILY AUCTIONED OFF MAURICE'S TYPEWRITER THAT WAS USED TO TYPE THE DRAFT OF MEIN KAMPF. THEY ALSO SOLD THE URKUNDE FOR HIS GPB AND HIS COBURG BADGE.
IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT HIMMLER WANTED TO KICK MAURICE OUT OF THE S S IN THE MID 30'S. AT THE SAME TIME, HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO BLOCK MAURICE'S ATTEMPTS TO MARRY. THE MOTIVE, OF COURSE, WAS MAURICE'S JEWISH HERITAGE. IT WAS AT THAT TIME THAT HITLER STEPPED IN AND HIMMLER WAS FORCED TO STEP BACK.
I WOULD THINK AS THE WAR AND THE DEPORTATION OF JEWS CONTINUED, MAURICE MUST HAVE BECOME A VERY CONFLICTED INDIVIDUAL. HOWEVER, I WOULD SAY THAT EVIDENCED BY THE LETTER HE WROTE WITH REGARDS TO THE STOSSTRUPPE BLOOD ORDER BADGE, HE ALWAYS WAS PROUD OF HIS INVOLVEMENT IN THE NAZI MOVEMENT.

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY OF MAURICE'S OTHER DECORATIONS.

                          Hi Bob,

WOW! Many thanks for posting such a unbelievely rare and important grouping! It is so refreshing to view the one of a kind items from a close-in personality!

                          WOW!

Thank you for showing these pictures. The history behind it makes me speechless...

Bob, you have outdone yourself on this one. What would it take to get into your will? I can't read the death notice print well enough to determine when he died. He obviously survived the war if he underwent de-nazification. Was anything ever said on how he could reconcile the fact that this regime was responsible for so much evil against those of his religion? Did he ever provide any interviews after the war?

To The Best Of My Knowledge, Maurice Lived Out The Balance Of His Life Quietly In Munich. This Grouping Came Out Of The Family After Much Inner Fighting. I Understand One Of His Sons Is A Practicing Orthodox Jew And Wanted The Nazi Items From His Father's Past Sold. That Is Why They Reside With Me Instead Of In Munich.
