            Indeed, but it is NOT W-Gladbach, but M-Gladbach, which stands for Mönchengladbach. It is near the Dutch border (Venlo) and near Viersen.

                  Your insignia and this discussion reminds me of one I once had and foolishly sold...

                  See if I get this correct, a city incorporated within a city - 'From 1933 through 1975, the neighborhood of Rheydt was an independent city; the split from München-Gladbach was arranged by Joseph Goebbels, who was born locally.' some interesting history here!

                        Yes, Joseph was from Rheydt.
                        One of the teachers at my school had the family-name changed after the war into Geubbels. They were ashamed to have the name Goebbels.
                        I live in the Netherlands, but it is quite near. I used to go shopping there a lot (baker and butcher).
