See if I get this correct, a city incorporated within a city - 'From 1933 through 1975, the neighborhood of Rheydt was an independent city; the split from München-Gladbach was arranged by Joseph Goebbels, who was born locally.' some interesting history here!Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Yes, Joseph was from Rheydt.
One of the teachers at my school had the family-name changed after the war into Geubbels. They were ashamed to have the name Goebbels.
I live in the Netherlands, but it is quite near. I used to go shopping there a lot (baker and butcher).Comment
