After 30 years of collecting only visors, and never having had the need for a mannequin (and having "snubbed" the Polizei community up until the last 2 years ), this forum has made me a convert--my first ever mannequin.

(Now, off to get the tunic, the parade belt, the medals, the sword, cartouche, pants, boots, aigullette....uhh, maybe I'll stick to hats after all )

This was on the Wehrmacht forum, and is apparently from a museum exhibit in Germany--an immediate post-war Gendarmerie set-up, for an NCO in the service of the Allied Military Government:

Following the above theme, the early DDR Police wore standard TR shakos without the eagle and the cockade bent down. (Notice this is one of those rare twill green wool bodies):

Since Feldgendarmerie has been touched upon, how about a converted double Erel for Feldgendarmerie service. This visor is attributed/named to W. Pfeiffer who served in the FG and held the rank of SS-Sturmbannführer and Major of the Gendarmerie.

Very nice cap Dave. Attached are pics of two new ones that I picked up. One is a Gendamarie converted to feldpolizei, and the other is a an Erel Gendamarie.

This converted cap is needs a bit of re-shaping. It also came with the tunic, which has an army officer's eagle on the breast and a police officer's eagle on the sleeve!
