I will be getting 2 more from the person who sold me these. They are the "in service of the german armed forces" armband (white) and a state service (yellow). Both are from salesman sample boards as well this Sunday if the weather is good..... I still have to see what else he has though. My pockets are like death valley though Also what I meant with the HJ was that it was the standard RZM construction which is bevo .

Just found out that there is a very high chance this is the same Harry!!!!! I will find out from the person where he got it to get the rest of the stuff and contact the veteran's son and ask if there was an armband like it. I gave him a brief description of it and he said that there was a red black and white armband with writing on the back. Also there can't be many Harry's who wrote on an armband plus it is still in the same state. I guess the son sold it without knowing even what was in the box I hope I can track down the rest of the stuff if it is the same armband.....

As long as you got a "good deal"..... I'd certianly display them "for what they are" myself....if I didn't have an example of a complete armband.... the "Im Dienst" and "Gov. Serv." are fairly common (as you know).... but I need a "Bahnhofwacht" myself..so that one would "do me fine"...
Just didn't want you (or anyone) to believe they were actually "salesman's samples".... (or "rare" because of that)...
best regards always....

Certianly there were display boards of Armbands such as the NSDAP Leadership series.... but these types would be "military" issue, not "private purchase"....these were "contracted" and shipped to "issue" points... and any samples would have included the full reverses for "quality control".
It is POSSIBLE (and speculative) but very latewar all sleeve bands were "ordered" to be shortened for "quick" removal- to be pinned on.... so possibly this was "applied to" these armband examples.... also.
I've seen other shortened armbands in "GI" souviner albums before....always assumed the "GIs" did it?
