The SHAEF manual on German Police which was originally classified as "SECRET." Original examples of this are practically impossible to find and although it is not known how many were originally produced, there are thought to be only a few in existence today.Last edited by SiPo; 04-16-2010, 11:25 AM.

I think so Joe.
The reason I think this is not just because they were found together but because the only information the maps in the booklet contain are relevant to the police structure, ie the locations of all HSSPF, BdO, IdS, Orpo, Gestapo, Kripo and SD offices within that geographical area.
Also, the size of the booklet is exactly the same as the manual itself and is thin enough to slip inside the front or rear covers. Each unit receiving the manual probably received the corresponding map booklet specific to their area of operations.
This may explain why the booklets are not annexed in the manual as the manual itself is generic, whilst the many geographical maps that would have been needed are not.
If the map booklet was not issued with the manual, I think it was certainly intended to be used in conjunction with it.
P.S. Sorry for the extremely BAD pics.Attached Files

Very enlightening G-Man, thank you for the info. I had never seen one of the map section before. I thought it might have been part of the Civil Affairs Handbooks on Germany published in 1943/44 that included one on Public Safety that also used the terms found in the SHAEF manual and your maps.

Couldn't resist, so I brought this monster out for some photos and to check if there were any maps like yours, which there was none. This beat of a book came from eBay! Seems like I've seen one other for sale at one point and I used to know of another in a collection for sale but the price... Anyhow, I thought all the "security" stamps and "secret" crossed out, etc. were interesting to show.Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

Very informative. I am doing some research on the Polizei organizations of WWll in order to shed of light on the history of where and who had my Mauser HSc Police Eagle/ L pistol previously. I am definitely interested in reading about the number of organizations that were "Polizei". Good stuff here.
