Hello,
Those of you that know me know that I am basically an "eagle weenie" with NCO sleeve eagles my primary interest.
Anyway, I was going through my "Impossible to find Eagles to Complete the Flock" list and started to think.
Has ANYONE ever seen a GemPo or FuSchuPo eagle on mottled cotton? In my time collecting I never recall seeing any carmine eagle on a mottled backing, even though they are theoretically possible.
Now GemPo uniforms were bought and issued by small towns so a "summer" tunic was most probably an "optional" private purchase item, and may have been rather rare, but the FSP was fairly large and did indeed work "in the field" so I would expect that branch to have had summer tunics.
If anyone has an example, or can recall ever seeing one I would be most interested in knowing.
PS: I am not referring to the "female" eagle on cotton used on the coveralls as shown here, but the orange/green mottled material.
Regards,
William Unland
