4850i/ The Day of the German Railroad.
Excellent service earns the railroad worker the Iron Cross. on 7 December 1943, in the setting of a commemoration ceremony and on the occasion of ‘The Day of the German Railroad’, Reichsverkerminister Dr. Ing. Dorpmüller inspected front line railroad workers, who performed excellent service, in the Mosiac Hall in the Reich Chancellery in Berlin. The picture shows State Secretary Dr. Ing. Ganzermüller with the decorated men.

                Hi

Would anybody be able to identify what this tunic is exactly? My original thoughts were Reichsbahn, but not too sure. Its black with Red piping, can post other photos later. Looking to complete the uniform, so what would I need in Collar Tabs and insignia?

                Cheers

Neat Reichsbahn Camo Picture! I believe these two individuals are pictured on page 395 of the Andreas Knipping / Richard Schulz book: Die Deutsche Reichsbahn 1939-1945 Zwischen Ostfron und Atlantikwall. The book photo is in black and white and they are both standing in front of a Locomotive.

Askold--great pic, and one I had never seen before (if this tunic came on the market today, it would be derided as a fantasy item).

Can someone post a pic of the larger black and white image?

                                post 132:
this photograph is taken from a website and not from a book. The website is from a friend of mine. One can still see his mark in he lower part.

This photograph is taken in August 1944 at Verona in Italy by a well-known German photographer, Walter Hollnagel. Also after the war he made many photographs related to the German railroad. This originally is NOT a black and white photograph. Hollnagel made many color photographs during the war. The two men are standing in front of a building.

And what is said: when one would see such a jacket at a show one would not buy it, thinking some hanky-panky. The jacket is not at all a regulation item.
