133: no postman, but a sort of guard in service for guarding army-depots.

Very early Postschutz (note the rarely-seen Postschutz cuff-title in wear):

Close-up of above. Note the P/S man is still wearing a P/S buckle in lieu of an SS one:

This photograph is a myth-buster. Supposedly, the SS took over all Postschutz units in 1942, and they were all to wear SS uniforms from there on out.

This pic was taken in Utrecht on may 7 1945, thereby establishing that regular Postschutz uniforms continued to be worn after 1942.

An interesting photograph in several ways including the unhappy looking Postschutz guy. I don't see a sleeve eagle or a cap eagle on the Postschutz fellow. Also, the US soldier has a Civilian US triangle on his jacket indicating he is an armed (with a German pistol) US Army Military Contractor... probably a Government Affairs specialist or perhaps a postman himself trying to reestablish postal service. There appears to be Brit with a beret hanging on the side of the truck so I would think this is an occupation photo.

                    Schupo--
The pic is apparently from the Utrecht archives, and is dated May 7th, 1945--the day of the surrender. The license plate on the truck is for Deutsche Reichspost.

BTW, Michael Schweizer has put out a new (and the only) book on the Postschutz. It is currently available in Germany:

Will let you know. Michael will send me a copy!
Hope he is able to shed light into the development from the early cuffband (when introduced exactly) and following up: the patches with Post Schutz indication or without and with the eagle looking to the left and right wing!

Did not have the time, but I must say the book is okay in many ways. Text is in German and that will bring reading problems to foreigners, not having much knowledge about the German language.
As always I have learned new things, especially about Postluftschutz and SS-Postschutz! Mr. Schweizer did a good job!!
